tuesday 8th may thank you to our supporters and grant beneficiaries who attended our agm at the jubilee centre on 8 may. it was wonderful to receive an update on how grant money given by the friends to alzheimers support is being used to provide so many services to the local community. we were also delighted to hear from brighter futures as to how close they are to reaching their target for their radiotherapy appeal. we also heard about the work of the friends’ volunteers at savernake hospital, thanks to trustee and volunteer, liz wright, who spoke of the valuable role played by the volunteers not just in running the shop and the ailesbury ward trolley, but also those volunteers who stop to spend time with patients on ailesbury ward – many of whom are extremely elderly and sometimes many community defibrillators – how you could help save a life a few years ago the friends funded the purchase of 10 community defibrillators for marlborough and two adjoining parishes. community defibrillator the friends have an ongoing financial commitment to their maintenance. the friends have also run occasional defibrillator “training days” in marlborough. the last one was held on october 23rd 2013, and over 300 people came along to learn about cpr and how to use a defibrillator. for those of you that were not able to attend the training day, or who would like a refresher on when and
